François-Henri Pinault is chairman and CEO of Kering, which he has transformed into a global luxury group. He became a part of the Pinault Group in 1987, where he held senior positions in several of the Group’s operating companies before joining its executive board. In 2000 he became deputy CEO of Kering and is responsible for the Group’s digital strategy. In 2003 he was named chairman of the Artemis Group holding company, Kering’s controlling shareholder. He took charge of Kering’s operations as chairman and CEO in 2005. He also chairs the Kering Corporate Foundation, which was launched in 2009 to combat violence against women.
Convinced that sustainability is a necessity for both ethics and business reasons, François-Henri Pinault was the first French CAC 40 CEO to appoint a Chief Sustainability Officer to the Executive Committee. He also led Kering to pioneer an Environmental Profit & Loss account. His ambition for Kering is for it to be the most influential Luxury group in the field of sustainability.
