A clear driver of sustainability is company size. That is one of the main findings of the Pulse of the Fashion Industry report. Some large enterprises and a few niche players are taking an advanced approach to sustainability. Small and midsize companies (SMEs), however, have the lowest score. With little control over or transparency along their supply chains, SMEs lack the knowledge and resources to significantly improve their footprint. Even when their intentions are good, they lack reach to be able to effect change.
